چکیده
Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are essential variables that support the achievement of science learning objectives. However, distance during Covid-19 Pandemic was cause lack maximum HOTS for undergraduate students due to their involvement in experiments. Therefore, this study aims apply a metacognition-integrated virtual experiment model and examine its impact on students' science. A quasi-experiment involved with randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design see implementation model. Participants two treatment groups were randomly selected from private universities Indonesia. The participants assessed using multiple-choice questions. Observation sheets used measure being developed. general linear MANOVA test effect model, while Partial Eta Squared size HOTS. results showed experimental integrated metacognition strategies significantly affected measurement shows high group. Integrating Art and Science in Undergraduate Education
The prevailing vision for undergraduate science education includes increased collaboration among teachers of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and an overhaul of introductory courses [1–4]. But by staying within the borders of STEM, are we overlooking connections between the arts and innovative science? Likewise, are we missing an important opportunity to inspire and inform nonsc...
متن کاملAssessing Students’ Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Strategies
This article describes the development and validation of a new self-report instrument, the Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Strategies Inventory, which is designed to assess adolescent and adult readers’ metacognitive awareness and perceived use of reading strategies while reading academic or schoolrelated materials. There were 3 strategy subscales or factors: Global Reading Strategies, Probl...
متن کاملEffectiveness of Integrating MOOCs in Traditional Classrooms for Undergraduate Students
The idea of a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) has attracted a lot of media attention in the last couple of years. MOOCs have been used mostly as stand-alone, online courses without credits. However, some researchers, teachers, colleges, and universities have attempted to utilize MOOCs in blended format in traditional classroom settings. This paper reviews some recent experiments in the contex...
متن کاملModeling Diffusion of Blended Labs for Science Experiments Among Undergraduate Engineering Students
While there is large body of work examining efficacy of Virtual Labs in engineering education, studies to date have lacked modeling Blended Labs (BL) – mix of Virtual Labs (VL) and Physical Labs (PL) for science experimentation at the university engineering level. Using Rogers theory of perceived attributes, this paper provides a research framework that identifies the attributes for BL adoption...
متن کاملAnalyzing Students' Metacognitive Strategies in Open-Ended Learning Environments
Novices often lack metacognition and self-regulation skills that are important for effective learning. Betty's Brain, an open-ended computer-based learning environment helps students practice and develop metacognitive strategies as they learn science topics. We extend previous work on sequence mining methods to discover students' frequentlyused behavior patterns from their activity sequences. O...
